I am excited to welcome you and your child to my classroom and laboratory! I hope you had a great time soaking up the UV rays! We are going to have a great semester learning about the surroundings and how it came to be.
During our first week of school, we will be spending time going over classroom procedures and getting to know each other. I will not be assigning homework until next week.
My personal email address is jkravit@knights.ucf.edu . You can also call the school office and leave a message, and I will return your call as soon as I am available.
Let me tell you a little about the mad scientist teaching you this year! I was born and raised in the sunshine state (Florida). I practically live in the water! I am open water certified and have dive in 6 of the most beautiful reefs in the world! I graduated from UCF with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology Education and did my Student Teaching in High School general science classes, which made me, realize how much I can’t get enough of this subject and grade level! I am grateful to say I cannot wait to get to know you and your future scientist!
Tomorrow I will be sending home a syllabus with your child which will be a chapter to chapter review of what we will be going over in class, homework, extra credits, field trips, supplies and when quizzes and tests will be.
Please make sure you send back the signed slip tomorrow from the back of the Student Handbook. In the meantime, if you could please take a few minutes to fill out the parent survey, I would appreciate it. What you share with me is confidential and will be used to help me understand the levels our scientists are on. Again, thank you for all of your help and I am looking forward to a awesome, exciting adventure with your student!
